The Village of Poplar Grove fiscal year is May 1st through April 30th.

The Village operates under the appropriation budget system (65 ILCS 5/8-2-9).  This means the Village adopts the annual budget through an appropriation ordinance. 

The Village participates with Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), section (40ILCS 5/7-135.5), https://www.imrf.org/. 

In 2017 the Village was presented with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association.
