Waste Hauling & Recycling Services
The Village of Poplar Grove Ordinance # 5-7-1 (A) establishes one waste hauler (scavenger) for the Village. A major reason to establish a single source for trash pick-up is the wear and tear on roads is a major local expense. One trip from a double axle waste hauler is equivalent to wear and tear from 1,000 cars on the roadway.
Other benefits include: Reduced Cost to residents for providing an open Bid process; Safety, security, noise pollution; Improve quality of neighborhood roads; Visibility and cleanliness of trash pick-up & storage; Stability with the same route, and day of week pick up for everyone as opposed to multiple days of the week; Ease in administration.
